Philosophy, Goals, & Vision Statement
“My vision is to be an evidence-based, empathetic, and impactful occupational therapist and to be recognized within my career. I am committed to growing as a leader and delivering holistic, client-centered approaches.” Danielle Benter MS, OTR
My professional philosophy is based on a strong belief in always providing holistic, client-centered, evidence-based approaches to individuals, families, and communities while always acting with empathy, equality, and honesty. Individuals, families, and communities have the right to participate in meaningful occupations. Engagement in these occupations empowers their development of health and well-being across the lifespan. I believe that empowerment plays a vital role in the world of occupational therapy. As therapists, I believe we have a role in empowering individuals, families, and communities through activities of daily living. Empowering them through therapy guides their desired outcomes/goals to reach their full potential and desired level of independence. With my Master’s degree from Grand Valley State University in Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University, I am ready to enter the occupational therapy field with a client-centered, holistic, evidence-based approach.
